Uniting for Peace AGM and UN Conference 16th April, 2011

“United Nations for 21st Century?”

Uniting for Peace AGM and conference took place on 16th of April at Wesley’s Chapel, London. It was an all day conference with the AGM in the morning and the conference in the afternoon. The afternoon session included distinguished speakers: Rev. John Johansen-Berg [The UN, NGO’s and Development], Rev. Brian Cooper [UN and Interfaith Harmony] and Vijay Mehta [Reforming the UN for the 21st Century].

The meeting was chaired by Rita Payne [Chair of Commonwealth Journalists Association UK]. One of the highlight of the AGM was a discussion and agreement to start a new campaign. The new campaign is called 4DS Campaign for World Peace and the 4DS stand for: Disarmament, Demilitarisation, Development and Democracy.
